Put it in quotes: Enclose a phrase in quotation marks, such as "Cornerstone Christian Supply" and the search engine limits results to Web articles and sites that contain that exact phrase.
Be specific: Use very specific words or phrases, not general ones. A search for "oak furniture" for example, delivers better results that one for "elegant furniture," and much better results than just "furniture."
Use the plus(+) and minus(-) signs: Connecting words with these signs is yet another way to narrow your search. A plus sign tells the search engine all the connected words must be included in the results; a minus sign designates words that should be excluded. When using a plus or minus sign, don't put any spaces between the sign and the words. For example, oak+furniture would provide you with information on all kinds of furniture. A more advanced search that combines quotes and the plus or minus sign will give even more targeted results. For example, "oak furniture"-coffee tables will turn up info on the on most all oak furniture except coffee tables.
